About

In the National Meeting of Astronomy of the year 1999 in Pereira, The Orion Group was born as a response to the need to generate a space where not only astronomy concepts are learned, but also this knowledge is shared with the community of the city of Pereira and its surroundings. In 2008, The Alfa Orión Astroengineering Research Group was created, formalizing research focused on Astronomy at the UTP, which was installed at the Astronomical Observatory in 2010, when it was inaugurated. From that moment on the group has carried out relevant research works covering various fields of astronomy and generating astronomical dissemination projects.
