The importance of looking up has been ingrained in me my whole life. As a child, my mother had me looking up at the night sky, at stars, satellites and if we were lucky, the northern lights. As I grew older, I never stopped looking skyward, but I began to notice that it was getting difficult to see these amazing wonders of our night sky. In 2012 I joined my first astronomy club, the Iowa County Astronomers. In 2014. I helped to get club recognition by the Internatonal Astronomical League during the "Name the Exo Planet" competition. It was my involvement in these two organizations that I learned about the hazards of light pollution and in 2018, I joined the International Dark Sky Association. I hope that with everyone working together we can bring back the night sky and all its beauty. for future generations to enjoy.

Past Activities

Member of International Dark Sky Association. Working for Dark Sky Park status, for our local State park. Have given 4 presentations to date on the importance of dark sky presevation.
